The fellowship is an important strand of the Foundation’s programme and is open to established UK journalists, writers, documentary makers and digital media professionals, who are asked to address themes or questions that are relevant to the Foundation’s programme. The last competitive round took place in 2018 when Deborah Hargreaves, Martin Sandbu and Aditya Chakraborrty were respectively awarded fellowships.
Successful applicants receive financial and editorial support over one year to produce a body of work that communicates alternative, economically coherent ideas in an engaging way. Ongoing support is provided to holders of the fellowship throughout their tenure and the Foundation works with the successful applicants to disseminate their final work to a wide audience.
