Process, timescales and deadlines

Please note that our main grants process takes about six months from first application to the grant being offered, if successful.

We use a two-stage application process. This means we ask for enough information to make sure your application feels like a good fit before asking you to complete a fuller application.

 

We want to make sure that your application is given a full and fair review.

Our eligible Stage One applications are reviewed by an expert Programme Advisory Group who bring a mix of policy expertise and practical experience to the process. Our Stage Two applications are reviewed by a member of the team or one of our experienced assessors and then by our Trustees at their quarterly meetings.

 

Because of this it can take up to six months from submitting a stage one application to being awarded a grant if successful.

When to apply

We operate a rolling application process, with three review points across the year. The cut-off dates for applications and how they relate to our decision making process is outlined in the infographic.

 

2024

  • Monday 15 January 2024 at 5pm.
  • Monday 15th April 2024 at 5pm.

You should hear the outcome of your stage 1 application within 4 months of submission. Please note that you will always hear from us -whether you are successful or not. You will be provided with feedback on your application, so do get in touch with us if for some reason you have not heard back from us after this timescale.

 

If your application is invited to Stage Two you will be given information about how and when to submit your full application at that point.

Stage two applications

 

Successful stage one applicants will be invited to stage two, where you will be invited to have a discussion with a member from our grants team.
