Nicola Putnam

Communications Manager

Nicola keeps the Foundation in touch with its audiences, whether that’s through events, publications, social media or the website. She works across all the Foundation’s activities to bring clarity to its communications.

Previously, she worked in government communications, including jobs for the National Apprenticeship Service and the NHS. Highlights include launching the City of York’s cycling paramedic, leading the PR for a government campaign to promote youth employment, project managing National Apprenticeship Week and promoting parity of esteem for further education alongside university.

She is a member of Campaign Collective a social enterprise dedicated to helping charities, social enterprises, public service organisations and other campaigners benefit from affordable professional communications advice and support, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and of the Charity Comms network. Nicola lives in rural North Yorkshire and outside of work enjoys walking the dogs, looking after her large ‘wild’ garden and keeping hens and, when all that proves too energetic, reading and the theatre.

One thing that sums up her job: WORDS!
